The R&D "Big Cam" Engine Idle Synchronizer Kit is a simple bolt-on kit that removes the stock OEM AIC (Air Idle Control) stepper motor from the throttle body and replaces it with a fully adjustable needle valve assembly.
The R&D kit allows for precise adjustment and locking of idle air volume when using/installing "High Lift", "Longer Duration" camshaft kits, as well as narrower LSA (Lobe Separation Angle) packages.
When camshaft lift durations and aggressive LSA settings are made, engine vacuum drops or drops, and idle becomes more difficult or nearly impossible to stabilize or control, especially with the OEM "vacuum referenced" AIC engine. The OEM AIC is calibrated to focus at a much higher vacuum, therefore, engine rev hunting and stalling are aggressive when installing large cams.
The R&D Big Cam Idle Tuner will work to allow perfect idle speed (RPM) with any camshaft kit and with just about any LSA package up to extremely aggressive R&D RC4 kits! Super easy to install in 5 minutes and very easy to tune!
The R&D Idle Tuner Kit fits all Kawasaki STX-12F / STX-15F / Ultra LX / Ultra 250X / SXR models, all years.
Please note that following the closure of the R&D company, we have resumed production and development of this product. Therefore, it is now marked with our RIVOT RACING brand and the materials used are stainless steel for the screws and nuts as well as 5083 aluminum for the plate and the cone, which allows us to guarantee this product for 10 years.
Don't forget to take the O-ring off the mechanical stepper and put it back on the manual stepper.
