Cylinder reboring for Jet-ski

Reboring a cylinder is necessary when the cylinders are worn or damaged. You must first ensure that there are pistons and segments in repair dimensions. Then we determine, depending on the degree of wear, at what dimension we must machine (rebore) the cylinder to remove these traces. The most common reaming dimensions are: + 0.25 or + 0.50 but it happens that we can ream to + 0.75 or even + 1.00 mm. Once the reboring has been carried out, the cylinder must be honed or deglazed to give it the necessary roughness, then simply reassemble the pistons and rings to the corresponding repair dimension.
On certain high compression turbo petrol engines, it may be necessary to groove the edge of the cylinder in order to fit a stainless steel ring in order to have a better seal of the cylinder head gasket.
